How it is made
The crackle glass technique, also known as ice glass, is a special type of Murano glassmaking that creates an apparent cracking of the glass surface by immersing the hot, still-molten pieces in water during the crafting process. The sudden temperature change produces a dense network of veins that are otherwise impossible to achieve. In this piece, the pre-added silver leaf to the glass mixture creates a magnificent metallic and refractive effect, resulting from the leaf's pulverization during blowing.
